Welded steel box beam and box column are widely used in steel structure projects. Compared with the H-shaped steel column which has only one strong axis, a box column provides a strong axis in both X and Y directions. Combined with a stiffening plate at the node, a powerful node domain is formed, offering force conditions that are superior to standard rolled H-beams. We can fabricate these in multiple configurations according to your structural requests. Below is one of our primary fabrication methods:

    Firstly, the cover plate is used as the assembly reference. The partition plate and the side web assembly line are respectively released on the assembly surface according to the construction drawing requirements, marked using sample punching.
  • 2
    Assemble the upper cover and the partition first on the tire mold. Following assembly, welding must be completed before moving forward to subsequent processes.
  • 3
    Before assembling the web, its flatness must be verified. Assembly should run in a single direction; the middle stiffener is positioned first, followed by the positioning of the web.

    The assembly of the box structure is completed once the U-shaped structure is finalized. First, the edge of the U-shaped structure web is corrected to keep unevenness within L/1000. Then, the web assembly positioning line is released on the lower cover, and the U-shaped structure is inverted. Structural assembly uses a unidirectional assembly approach, and positioning spot welding uses a symmetric welding method.

    The final side of the separator is welded using professional electroslag pressure welding equipment.
Remarks: All items can be processed strictly based on provided construction drawings, easily accommodating processes like shot blasting, punching, stiffening/joining board addition, painting, and more.

Shot Blasting & Coating Quality Control: Shot blasting treated to Sa. 2.5 standard providing clean metallic luster without rust, grease, or weld spatter, ensuring a profile roughness >75um. Protective primers applied within 5 hours post-blasting, ensuring zero-defect coatings with Dry Film Thickness (DFT) >75um.
